The Superintendence for the archaeological heritage of Puglia is a peripheral office of sector of the national Ministry for the heritage and cultural activities, with institutional assignments on the followings themes protection, maintenance and exploitation on the archaeological heritage existing in Puglia. (D. Lgs 22.01.2004 ns. 42). In regional circle the activity of coordination among the various Superintendences of sector (Superintendence for the archaeological heritage, Superintendence for the artistic historian and demoetnoantropologico patrimony for the Provinces of Bari and Foggia, Superintendence for the architectural good and for the landscape for the Bari and Foggia provinces, Superintendence for the architectural heritage and the landscape and for the artistic historian and demoetnoantropologico patrimony for the Lecce Brindisi and Taranto Provinces) is submitted to the Regional Direction for the cultural and landscape heritage.
